By Mike O’Connell

i have been on quests before.
i spent some time, once or twice,
searching for the parameters of
oblivion, searching for ways to
stop the clock, and let me struggle
along, in my own mind. nothing can be
done about lost hours, years,
family and friendships, that slid
right off of the surface, like butter
off a short stack. the quests are
softer, now….shorter…..crammed
in between stuff i have to do.
with no reason to numb the senses,
there is less of a desire to get too high.
besides, it makes it harder to paint….
