Serenity By The Cabin Door

By Lynn Bassett

Serenity as I lounge,

beside my cabin door,

as the river runs quickly now,

who could ask for more.

A book,

a chair,

rest for me.

Nature as my friend.

All of my needs accounted for,

A peace that never ends.

Heaven is above me now,

green grass beneath my feet.

A world in which all things are right,

all people good,

a world of light.

My wish that everyman,

could have a life of peace,

no angry words,

no violent deeds,

nothing to be feared.

Where all is love,

and all are free.

Man’s ego,
