Critique Groups

Monday Group – Freeland Library

Second Monday of each month a drop in critique group at the Freeland Library from 10am-1pm. This space is an open writing space after till 4pm. Bring between 5-8 copies of your work or email it ahead of time to Pattie at NorthSoundWriters@gmail.com. Pieces should be no longer than 1-2k words.

Wednesday Group – Freeland

The first and third Wednesday of each month there is a drop-in critique group in Freeland at the Trinity Lutheran Church right off 525. @1pm until they finish which is usually around 2:30-3:00 pm

Bring a pen and 3-5 copies of your work. Generally speaking, work is kept between 1k-2k words. This is a light-hearted group who doesn’t take themselves too seriously. Think of this less as a critique group and more about honest and helpful feedback. Contact Pattie at NorthSoundWriters@gmail.com for more information.

Wednesday Group – Old Bayview School

Every Wednesday, there is a critique group located at the Old Bayview School from 1:30-4pm. This group works in large batches, novel specific (non-fiction & fiction). Pieces cap around twenty-five pages or a chapter of your novel per session.  Actively looking for new members. This group primarily uses email to share information. Saturday Group – Oak Harbor

The second and fourth Saturday of each month our North Sound Writers Critique group meets. 6 pm – 9 pm at Sweet Rice, located in downtown Oak Harbor on Pioneer street.
